These specialized T-Tip soldering iron tips can help restore missing lines from LCD displays. Over time, certain handheld devices are prone to disappearing lines from their LCD display. These specalized tips help evenly reheat and reattach the faulty ribbon connection.
A cheap iron is OK, just be patient and allow it to come up to full temperature.
The silicone pad should be trimmed with scissors or Xacto blade to the width of the ribbon cable. You need to evenly heat the entire length and width of the ribbon. If the ribbon is narrow or there is a ridge cast into the LCD frame, the silicone pad should be trimmed to ensure a full fit.

If possible, leave the device turned on while reheating the ribbon and monitor the display. This will help you to know when the lines begin to reappear.
