DIY kit form of the miniature "mickris" surface-mount RGB amplifier PCB for NEC consoles using the THS7374 amplifier IC.
Also includes 2 surface mount ceramic caps for the jailbar fix.
- Turbo Grafx-16
- Turbo Duo
- PC Engine
- Super Grafx
IMPORTANT NOTE #1: This kit contains 0603 size surface mount parts. Installation with a soldering iron is not recommended, only surface-mount appropriate tools!
IMPORTANT NOTE #2: This PCB design has one of the unused 7374 outputs grounded. Tests have shows that the 7374 IC will heat to approx 65c during normal use. TI rates this IC long-term stable operating up to 125c. Since the measured operating temp is far below the max rating, it is not anticipated that this will cause any premature failure of the IC. For additional very-long term stability, you may wish to lift pin 11 before assembly to leave the unused output floating.
December, 2018: SMD parts are now color-coded for simpler packaging and ease of reference during installation:
R1: 3.6M, Orange, x3
R2: 86.6 Ohm, White (no color) (86.6 supersedes silkscreen value), x3
R3: 604 Ohm, Yellow (604 supersedes silkscreen value), x3
C1: 82nF, Pink, x3
C2: 22uF, Red, x1
C3: 0.1uF, Brown, x1
Jailbar Fix: 2x caps on clear tape
