Game Gear bad capacitors: Visible electrolyte leakage on top of a Game Gear 100uf cap
Game Gear bad capacitors: Damage to solder pads, weakened legs. Fresh solder blob in lower-left shows the start of repair.

Several different revisions of Game Gear main PCBs were created, and there may be more to be found. The two smaller PCBs located in the rear half of the case appear to be the same across all units.

Game Gear units frequently have problems with low audio, washed out graphics, or don't function at all. The typical cause is bad capacitors.
