Single-Volt Substitution

With minor modifications, +5v DRAM can typically be used in place of multi-volt DRAM. Single voltage DRAM tends to run more coolly and tends to be more reliable.

For example, the Colecovision can be made more reliable by making a minor circuit change and swapping the stock 4116 for +5v DRAMs.
